Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association Congratulates Sara Carter on Senate Confirmation as Drug Czar
WASHINGTON, DC- The Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association (FLEOA) congratulates Sara Carter on her confirmation by the United States Senate as Director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy. Her confirmation comes at a time when law enforcement at every level is under intense pressure, as fentanyl pours into communities, violent trafficking networks expand, and families across the country feel the consequences firsthand.
Carter brings extensive insight into the drug crisis through years of investigative reporting on cartel operations, border security failures, and the human cost of narcotics trafficking. Her experience documenting the conditions confronted by law enforcement and impacted communities provides a solid basis for leading a coordinated national response.
“We congratulate Sara Carter and look forward to working with her. Having known her personally for many years, I am confident she will be a strong and effective advocate for law enforcement and a decisive leader in deterring criminal activity and keeping America safe,” said FLEOA National President Mathew Silverman.
FLEOA believes a comprehensive drug control strategy must prioritize enforcement, accountability, and meaningful support for the officers tasked with carrying out this mission. The association looks forward to collaborating with Carter and the Office of National Drug Control Policy to advance policies that strengthen public safety and hold criminal organizations accountable.
FLEOA remains committed to advocating for the resources, tools, and policies federal law enforcement officers need to protect communities and uphold the rule of law. The association stands ready to support Carter’s efforts to confront the drug crisis with resolve, clarity, and a strong commitment to public safety.
In addition to its policy advocacy, FLEOA works daily to support the men and women who serve as federal law enforcement officers through legal defense programs, legislative representation, officer safety initiatives, and family support resources. Through these efforts, FLEOA ensures federal officers have a strong, unified voice and the support they need to continue protecting the public with professionalism and integrity.
