FLEOA Applauds Senate Passage of Reconciliation Bill That Preserves Law Enforcement Pay and Retirement Benefits

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association (FLEOA) continues its active engagement with Congress on President Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” reconciliation package which passed the Senate earlier today. Thanks to FLEOA’s persistent advocacy, the legislation that as passed by the Senate safeguards the hard-earned pay and retirement benefits of federal law enforcement officers and increases funding for law enforcement.

“We appreciate that Congress took FLEOA’s concerns seriously and removed provisions that would have significantly harmed law enforcement recruitment and retention, while also increasing law enforcement funding” said FLEOA National President Mat Silverman. “Protecting the pay and retirement security of those who serve on the front lines is not just good policy—it’s essential to public safety.”

FLEOA’s Legislative Affairs team worked tirelessly, engaging in direct advocacy, coalition efforts, and testimony to ensure the voice of federal law enforcement was central throughout the negotiation process. FLEOA extends its deep gratitude to our allies in both the House and Senate who stand strong against measures that would roll back vital retirement protections.

As the House prepares to take further action on the bill this week, FLEOA urges all Members to continue standing with the federal law enforcement community while recognizing their unwavering service and sacrifice in protecting America’s families, communities, and national security.
