September 11th Transparency Act

FLEOA Strongly supports The September 11th Transparency Act as critical to ensuring we know about all who perpetrated or supported the attacks.

The Honorable Bob Menendez
United States Senate
Washington, D.C. 20510

Dear Senator Menendez,

We write to you today with our strong support for S. 2683, the September 11th
Transparency Act, which would ensure that the Department of Justice, the Central
Intelligence Agency, and the Director of National Intelligence declassify, as
appropriate, any documents that could identify additional co-conspirators involved in
the attacks of September 11, 2001.

As we prepare to commemorate 20 years since the 9/11 terrorist attacks, the lingering
pain and effect on both 9/11 families and responders persists. Part of that pain is in
still not knowing the full extent of who was involved in planning the attacks, who
supported the attackers, and who benefitted from this heinous act. If our government
is holding on to documents that could add context to what was already revealed in the
9/11 Commission Report, then those documents should be made available. Only with
full transparency can the 9/11 families and responders get the answers they deserve to
help further their healing process.

We would encourage the Congress to rapidly pass this bill prior to the 20th
commemoration of the 9/11 attacks this coming September 11, 2021, so that the
responders and survivors may be better able to understand why the attacks happened
and who was responsible for the tragedy that they now live with every day.

FLEOA looks forward to working with you to pass this imperative legislation and is
available to provide any additional assistance. Feel free to contact us at
