Secret Service Recruitment and Retention Act

The Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association (FLEOA) – the largest not-for-profit, non-partisan professional organization representing more than 26,000 federal law enforcement agents and officers across 65 agencies – today praised the U.S. House of Representatives’ passage of H.R. 3731, the Secret Service Recruitment and Retention Act of 2017. This bill, which exempts the United States Secret Service from the federal pay cap for 2017 and 2018, will now go to the President's desk to be signed into law.

FLEOA President Nate Catura said, "FLEOA has long felt the federal pay cap did not adequately compensate federal law enforcement officers for the tremendous work they do. Passage of this bill is a welcome acknowledgment of the daily sacrifices made by federal law enforcement and FLEOA hopes this measure is a step toward a permanent pay cap waiver authority for all federal law enforcement."
