The Honorable Mitch McConnell
Minority Leader

Dear Majority Leader Reid and Minority Leader McConnell:
As the President of the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association (FLEOA) representing over 26,000 Federal law enforcement officers, I would like to offer my support for Thomas Perez as the next United States Secretary of Labor.
Mr. Perez has a distinguished career in public service, as a federal prosecutor, Secretary of the Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation, and currently the Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Rights Division of the United States Department of Justice.
Mr. Perez has spent over fifteen years in federal public service, much of that as a federal prosecutor. Mr. Perez worked tirelessly to protect the civil and constitutional rights of all Americans. He was instrumental in the prosecution of several individuals who engaged in a deadly, racially motivated crime spree. He also worked to protect some of America's most vulnerable workers as the Chair of the Interagency Worker Exploitation Taskforce. Mr. Perez served as special counsel to the late Senator Edward Kennedy, and was Senator Kennedy's principal advisor on civil rights, criminal justice, and constitutional rights.
Mr. Perez is held in high regard by FLEOA and he has the support of the men and women of Federal law enforcement for the position of United States Secretary of Labor. He is a skilled prosecutor who values those who carry a badge and gun every day to help keep our nation safe.
Respectfully yours,
Jon Adler
National President
Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association
