Boston Red Sox Police K-9 Hero Day

The Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association & Foundation are seeking nominations from federal, state, county, and local agencies of police K-9’s that have performed an exemplary or heroic act in calendar year 2014. The nomination period will be open commencing on March 1, 2015 and concluding on April 15, 2015. The Police K-9 Team must have performed the act within one of the six (6) New England States (Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, Rhode Island).

The Red Sox have agreed to this year’s theme of recognizing up to six (6) police K-9’s and their handlers during a pre-game and on-field FLEOA Foundation ceremony on Monday, July 27, 2015 when they play the Chicago White Sox. One team will additionally be selected as the top team for 2014.

The nomination and selection process will be heavily advertised in the Red Sox fan base area of the six New England states. The Nomination Review & Selection Committee is comprised of independent experts in the field of Police K-9 from across the country, a representative from the FLEOA Foundation, and with input from Red Sox Nation.    

 

Nominations can be submitted by printing out the completed form and mailing it to:

Please include with the submission:

  1. A case narrative/summary not more than 2000 words in length.
  2. Complete nominee information.
  3. Please do not include suspect, victim, witness names; dates of birth; Social Security numbers or any other specific identifications other than the team’s name.
  4. Entries MUST BE  typed and double-spaced 
  • Nominations must be for exemplary or heroic acts performed by a police dog in 2014.·
  • All individuals being nominated for the award must submit all nominee information.·
  • Nominations not prepared as directed will not be considered.·
  • Please be sure to include nominee’s name, title, and agency/organization, as appropriate, spelled-out exactly as to appear on awards and in publications (if selected.)

ALL NOMINATIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED BY APRIL 15, 2015
