FLEOA Endorses Legislation Honoring Civil Servants Killed in the Line of Duty

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

January 13, 2022

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Larry Cosme, National President of the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association (FLEOA) – the nation’s largest non-partisan, non-for-profit professional association representing more than 30,000 federal law enforcement officers and agents across 65 federal agencies – released the following statement endorsing legislation Honoring Civil Servants Killed in the Line of Duty:

"Attacks on federal law enforcement are on the rise both domestically and internationally. Whether in Benghazi, Afghanistan, Havana, or right here at home American public servants working on behalf of their nation are constantly targeted by criminals, terrorists, and state actors with malicious intent.,” stated Cosme.

"FLEOA proudly supports the Honoring Civil Servants Killed in the Line of Duty Act to bestow long overdue honor and support for the families of those making the ultimate sacrifice on behalf of their nation. We thank Senators Sinema, Portman, Padilla and Peters for their leadership with this important issue and look forward to this bill’s passage,” Cosme concluded.
