FLEOA FoundationWho is Eligible?

Class of 2008 High School graduates who are the children of current, retired or deceased Federal Law Enforcement Officers.

How to Apply

High School graduates of the Class of 2008 are to submit the following by August 1, 2008:

  • The Scholarship application   Download a copy here (pdf).
  • A transcript of your high school grades, with class ranking, SAT or other aptitude test scores, and a copy of your diploma/graduation certificate.
  • A letter of acceptance from a college or university.

How Winners are Selected

A scholarship committee consisting of two members of the Board of Directors and one or more non-board members will independently review and rank each application. Scholarships will be awarded in the order of the highest cumulative ranking.

Criteria used for selection

Scholastic Ability: SAT scores, grades, class ranking, honors, awards, etc.

Social Character: Leadership qualities, participation in activities/organizations, etc.

Special consideration will be given to those applicants who are the children of federal law enforcement officers killed or disabled in the line of duty. Hardships may be identified and may receive special consideration at the discretion of the selection panel.

Type of Awards

Initially, the scholarship program will be limited to 15 grants of $1,000, each awarded to high school graduates. As the Foundation grows, we hope to expand the number and the amount of awards.
